You can get TModLoader [forums.terraria.org] Once you download that, unzip the file. After, click on the unzipped folder and hold down ⌘+C for a second (this is the copy command). Go to your Terraria directory at ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Terraria You can go one of two ways about this next step. On the top of your screen, it should say Finder next to the Apple (). Go to 'Go' and click 'Go to Folder'. Copy '~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Terraria' (without the quotes) and hold down ⌘+V (this is paste command). Click enter and you shouid be at the Terraria folder. The second way is going to the top of your screen, press 'Go' and hold down your Option key on your Mac. If you can't find Option, you most likely have a Windows configured keyboard. For Windows keyboards, hold down 'Alt'. Hold down Option/Alt and a Library folder should pop up. While holding down, click on Library. At the Library folder, there is a Application Support folder. Look for that and double-click on it. Look for Steam and go to that directory. Once you're there, go to steamapps>>common>>Terraria. (>> means double click on the folder) You're now at the Terraria Folder! Mac/Linux users need to manually rename the.exe files for the time being. Server For the most part, launching a tModLoader server is the exact same as launching a Terraria server. Right click on Terraria and click on 'Show Package Contents'. Go to Contents>>MacOS, and hold down ⌘+V for a second. If it asks if you want to replace the contents, please click Yes! If you have made it this far, then you have successfully downloaded TModLoader! Launch Terraria from Steam and then Terraria should look *slightly* different. If it does, you have installed it! Launching Terraria with TModLoader for the first time should make some folders. The folders that TModLoader makes are critical to the Mod Installation process You should notice that none of your characters/worlds are not there. Don't worry, nothing is wrong, you still got your Terraria saves! Information on next section. You have installed TModLoader, but TModLoader is rendered useless with mods! You can find mods by Googling TModLoader mods Unzip your mod if neccesary and hold down ⌘+C on your mod. Keep in mind that the mod must end in.tmod, if it does not, then it is not a valid TModLoader mod. Navigate to your Library folder (instructions at Section 2 of this guide) and go to Application Support, then Terraria. Keep in mind that you don't navigate to your Terraria Installation but your Terraria folder where it stores your characters and worlds. This should have made a folder called ModCompile. Go to Mods and hold down ⌘+V and it should paste your mod. Open Terraria through Steam and if you did it correctly, then you can enable your mod through the mod settings at the title screen. This guide will be showing two ways you can install tModLoader on Linux, the first one being the fastest way, and the second one will be the manual way of installing it. This was all done on Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic, but both sets of instructions will work on pretty much every distro. However, this isn’t guaranteed to work on every distro out there.
